NO Variable Charges for Tire Wear: According to DOT standards, the minimum tread depth allowed is 2/32nds, and most leasing companies charge between $30-$45 per 32nd of tire wear. This means you could pay as much as $3,200 per trailer at turn-in! At TEL, we don’t add variable charges for tire wear based on tread depth.
NO Variable Brake Wear Charges: At TEL we don’t charge for variable brake wear. Most leasing companies charge per 1/8 inch of brake wear, which could cost as much as $900 per trailer if turned in at the DOT minimum of 2/8ths (1/4”).
