History of TEL
In 2004, founder Doug Carmichael established TEL. The focus of the company was on selling used trucks and trailers. In addition, we remarket used equipment for carriers. Today, we conduct all truck and trailer leasing as well as off-lease sales as Transport Enterprise Leasing, LLC. While our wholesale and remarketing activities happen under our subsidiary, TEL Equipment Sales, LLC. Although the wheels of our business started rolling in 2004 with truck & trailer sales and remarketing, our leasing business started a few years later. Initially, it focused on small fleets. Then it expanded to lease purchase. In 2013, we began developing new equipment leasing programs for:
- Fleets who wanted to grow
- Owner-operators who wanted to start their own businesses.
As more fleet owners and independent operators found success through our programs, our business concept really took off. Since then, it has been very well received. As a result, we have repeat customers and a growing customer base.
Over the years, our focus shifted from used equipment to new equipment. Now we have established our place as the premier commercial truck and trailer equipment lease and remarketing provider. By supplying our customers with new or lightly used state-of-the-art, reliable trucks & trailers, our customers are more likely to succeed and increase their bottom lines. Plus, we offer extended warranties. Also, we keep our customers’ costs down for routine maintenance and repairs. We do this through our maintenance program. In addition to that, we provide participating lease purchase carriers with a reliable source of trucking capacity. Thus, partnering in our customers’ success is why our success rates are well above our competition.
In 2006, TEL had only three employees. Today, our business has grown exponentially. In fact, we currently employs a staff of 100+ with physical locations in Tennessee and Indiana. Further, we have a portfolio of over 8,500 pieces of equipment leased throughout the US, averaging 6,000+ wholesale transactions each year.
So, what does this mean for you? As TEL continues to grow and expand, our strength in the marketplace will allow us to offer our customers quick access to best-value trucks and trailers. Whether they choose Fleet Leasing, Equipment Sales, and/or Lease Purchase. They come with sustainable pricing and reduced maintenance exposure. Overall, we strive to provide strong lines of communication while maintaining a high level of honesty and integrity in all our interactions. Thus, our staff is here to provide the level of responsiveness that your business deserves, no matter how big or small. Because at TEL, your success is our business.
